Selvadurai Raveendran (Ravi) is an Attorney-at-Law from Sri Lanka, Solicitor of England and an
Australian Legal Practitioner.

He became active amongst the Tamils in 1977, following the ethnic pogrom in that year, by
becoming involved with the Tamil Refugee Rehabilitation Organization (TRRO), leading from then on
to Central British Fund for Tamil Refugee Rehabilitation (CBFTRR), Tamil Information Centre (TIC) and
the Australian Council for Tamil Refugees. He also interacted with various other community groups
in these periods, including every one of the groups who took up armed struggle.

He was forced to move to Australia out of the personal dangers faced by his human rights work, and
largely out of his involvement as instructing solicitor for the TRRO and his role in the Sansoni
Commission of 1977.

He continues to be active from Australia.
